Ahh… the old man and his beloved lamp – his “major award” – the thing that irked Ralphie’s mother and in a wierd way became the old man’s mistress. Unfortunately, this model of the lamp doesn’t light up, but the Old Man does say 3 phrases from the film.

What fun! The father’s three phrases: “It’s a clinker…” “Fra-gi-lee, it must be Italian” & “It’s a major award” work without a hitch. Both pieces are well-constructed & easily stand up. The only thing that would make it better is if the tiny bulb in the lamp actually lit up. But why not get the working 20″ version of the leg lamp as well.
