Marvel Legends Series 11 Action Figure Scarlet Witch

I knew this was coming, but I had to see it to believe it. After the huge disappointment that Mystique was from the Sentinel series, I kind of figured ToyBiz would do the same injustice to Scarlet Witch-another favorite character that I was really anticipating. And, they did-only this time the head sculpt isn’t a redeeming factor. It doesn’t really capture the Scarlet Witch’s likeness from the comic books. I don’t know who they used for a reference, but they should have used someone else. In addition to that, the head seems too big for the neck. She has no lower jaw line that flows up to an ear. Instead, it goes all the way back to the form the back of her head and neck. She almost looks like she has a fat face. The body sculpt is identical to the one they used for Mystique, so the articulation is mediocre at best. She has 31 points of articulation–which is 4 more than Mystique received. It basically means that you can rotate each glove and boot that she wears. Big deal. With Marvel Legends figures, that’s really a standard feature by now. The joints were good and the paint job was OK except on the face. Her face is full of little, brown specs that are supposed to be freckles or something. Or, it could be that the paint that they used for her hair color spattered onto her face. Whatever the case may be, it looks bad. Compared to the past female characters that were given the Marvel Legends treatment (i.e., Elektra, Rogue, Phoenix, Invisible Woman, Black Widow, the Black Cat), Mystique and Scarlet Witch rank as the worst, in my opinion. The new body sculpt that they have doesn’t improve on what they had before on the past figures. It’s definitely a step back instead of forward. Scarlet Witch comes with an Avengers comic book and a character dedicated vehicle. I like the vehicles for the figures in this series. It’s a nice idea, but they have no action features at all. Lights, sounds, or a firing missile would have been kind of nice. They are totally for display purposes. This figure is in very short supply, so getting one or replacing one will be extremely difficult. Which, in a way, is fine since the figure isn’t that good in the first place. This figure is excellent for Marvel Legends completionists and collectors. They are other figures in this series that are properly done and well worth your time and money. Check out Taskmaster, Vengeance, Ultron, Hulk Buster Iron Man, and Wonder Man.
It was a Christmas gift for my son, and he loved it!. The toy was just as it was described and it came right on time.
Scarlet Witch was part of Marvel Legends series 11 and was scrapped after a few cases made it out of the factory. Everybody except North America got a handful of Scarleys.
ARTICULATION- **** With 34 p.o.a.’s this is normal for a Marvel Legend
SCULPT-***. Similar to Mystique’s sculpt but a tad bit more articulation. One other thing- The Head has a crappy paint job and is HUGE!
ACCESSORIES-** she comes with a stupid ride on transport and a comic book.
FUN FACTOR-**
OVERALL- ***1/2
