  1. the box said this was for 5+ year olds, but this is a very complex transformer with many small parts that need to be rotated to go from the fighter jet to Starscream. It took my son and his buddy about 2 hours to figure it out, with my help in between. The instructions are, sorry to say, crap. The printing budget must have been cut, because, although it is a large sheet of paper, but each step is so small and not really clear. They should have used both sides of the paper and made each step larger. Even I am having a hard time deciphering what needs to be turned which direction. My son (9) seems to have mastered it now, but my younger one (7) is still having difficulty with his Ironhide.

Caution: Although they look cool (and they are), be prepared for some frustration over how tight the pieces are and how bad the directions are. I would not give this to a 5 year old unless I had a lot of patience to assist.

  2. I just want to add that pictures don’t make it justice… is much nicer in real life. I thought it wouldn’t be standing stable… fortunately I was mistaken. I already have Ironhide from previous movie and this Starscream is a fine addition to my collection. I decided to buy this after looking some very good pictures of this decepticon on Flickr… give it a try, you won’t regret it.

  3. THe parts break off easily and it was poorly made, the other one is bulkier but get it instead of this one. i do not reccomend this toy even though the jet form is cool.

  4. wow my first voyager, always thought they were just bigger but they have a little more going on than the deluxe class. with starscream theres more to the mechalive movement, and that oh so sweet transformation lasts a little longer, nd he is bigger, so compared to the deluxes hes more to scale. awesome cybertronian paint job, and i love that he finally has hands, theyre very menacing, his legs support him very well and the head sculpt looks great, he has missiles and gatling guns on both arms. my only complaint is pose ability limited by joint articulation in the arms and no torso movement. but thats basically how he handled in the movie, both of them. get him, hes the one you love to hate.

  5. Written by my 11 y.o. son, a big fan of the movies:

This toy is so cool! It’s very easy for me to stand up and the missiles are really cool! I think the mech alive thing is really nifty. The transformation is not very hard. overall it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
