When I first saw the Vincent Van Gogh action figure, I thought it might be part of a funny joke. But what’s so funny about an artist who saw the world in a very emotional light and tried through his thick paint strokes, to convey the emotions of everyday scenes? Van Gogh was an original, and so I am proud to have him in my action figure collection.
I will not take the figure or the tiny oil paints out of the box. I will truly treasure this little toy; it shows that heros can come in all shapes and sizes. I am sorry that Van Gogh had the incident with his ear, and it’s nice that alot of his life is contained in sensitively written books so that we, the future artists of the world can glean some forethought on a master. God Bless Vincent Van Gogh!
WOW — I thought it was hilarious when I found it, and he liked it just as much. My wanna be boyfriend is in grad school to teach art. Perfect gift.
I loved that it came with 2 heads — a regular one and one with the bandaged ear. I like that it came with not just one painting, but 4 interchangeable ones.
My only issue would be the shipping —- it was squished in a much too small box, resulting in all the edges being bent. Not exactly pristine condition…. BUT — still an A+ gift!
I love to have props. My high school students roll at the crazy things I pull out of my file cabinet draw. Thanks would love to buy Frida and Diego if they are action figures.
The item was received on time, but later I found out that one of the heads (the one with the cut-off ear) doesn’t snap on properly. Didn’t know right away because it was a gift I sent to someone else… I think it was in a sealed package, so the seller may not have been aware of that…
This toy is so much fun.
My daughter didn’t know I bought it for my self and she bought me one, but I’m going to keep both. I keep one a work and one for home.
